Back to the Future!

Participation is our secret ingredient.

formazione_1000x400
We build shared identities, dialogue with territories and engage communities that regain an active role in culture.
We structure paths in which participation takes various forms, from discovering different points of view to co-designing an event or co-creating an exhibition.

Back to the future! Participatory paths in Adriano

Where did we start from?

From our previous participatory paths and from the need of Quartiere Adriano to reclaim a local narrative, to imagine the future in connection with its past.

What did we do?

We involved young people and inhabitants of the neighbourhood in two paths. Catch Up! will co-design an event, from the selection of proposals to the curatorship and organisation. Let’s Keep In touch will co-create an art piece by collaborating with artists and exploring the Quartiere Adriano.

What about the outcomes?

A change in people, who reactivated the awareness of their creative abilities and approach the languages of performing arts. What you can touch is the tip of the iceberg: the art piece created and the event realised.

Where did we start from?

From the 2019 call “Bando Quartieri” of the Municipality of Milan and its local objectives on Municipio 1, the central district of the city: to identify, describe and intervene on critical issues affecting the city centre.

What did we do?

We created a co-design and co-creation process aimed at under-25s. A moment of active participation in local life, listening to the territory and those who live it, and expressing their point of view through artistic languages.

What about the outcomes?

Those who participated gained practical skills and theoretical knowledge. The funders were left with an audio-photographic archive of the testimonies of a group of youngsters and a range of people living in the city centre.

Sguardo pubblico: eyes on the audience

Where did we start from?

The inspiration came from a simple thought: during performances we often photograph the stage, but never the audience. What if we tried to render the show through the faces of those who see it?

What did we do?

We involved two photographers and contacted festivals and spaces where to shoot photographs, turning the camera towards the audience. We selected the images and involved two playwrights to combine them with quotes from theatre scripts.

What about the outcomes?

A photographic book, which includes the collected quotes and images. An innovative way of qualitatively monitoring the results achieved.
